Zipper skirt (Skirt from dress up-cycling 2)

Here is another skirt made from dress... Chambray dress that has become too small for my daughter.

The dress had a zipper on the back and I decided to use it for the skirt. As the skirt panel of the dress was wide enough, I could easily cut the panel in the middle and put the zipper in it.

I cut the dress quite high to have more fabric left for the waistband, which I made wider this time. I folded it exactly as I did for the elastic waistband skirt (I neatened the raw edges of the skirt panel as well as the waistband). As I put the zipper, I could sew the skirt tight at the waist. And it is still very comfortable.
